Poll: Is it wise for the government to put the PBS system on hold?
The School-Based Assessment (PBS) system introduced in primary schools in 2011 and secondary schools in 2012 was aimed at being a holistic form of assessment which incorporated both school and centralised assessment.
However, many teachers complained of being burdened by the online system.
Following the widespread criticism which included a recent protest by a teachers' group, the Education Ministry on Sunday said that the PBS system had to be put on hold until results of a review is announced.
