He said based on Abdul Khalid's experience and track record, the airline could be brought back to profitability.
A political analyst said Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim would be the best person to helm Malaysian Airlines (MAS) and revive the ailing national carrier to its heyday.

University Malaya’s Mohammad Tawfik Yaakub in an article published in a news portal said based on Abdul Khalid’s experience and track record, the airline could be brought back to profitability.

Mohamad Tawfik said, among Abdul Khalid’s success throughout his tenure as the state's MB is the acquisition of Guthrie Bhd by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), raising funds as much as RM3.2 billion, the Langat 2 water treatment plant agreement, the acquisition of several water concession companies by the state government and the 20 cubic meter water programme.

The Selangor MB, is currently "party-less" after he was sacked by the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) followed by his submission of resignation a few days later.

Following his resignation, the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah stepped in. Sultan Sharafuddin deferred the resignation until a suitable candidate is named.

Astro AWANI would like to get its readers view on the subject and we welcome you to take part in the poll below.
