MRT Corp CEO tenders resignation after accident
MRT Corp CEO, Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid resigned after three lives were lost during the tragic accident at an MRT work site yesterday.
In an official statement, he said this was in line with MRT Corp’s stand which bears full responsibility of the accident.
‘As the head of MRT Corp, I am taking personal responsibility for the incident and this is the correct thing to do. I have informed the Chairman of MRT Corp, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, of my decision,” he said in the statement.
Azhar was appointed the CEO of MRT Corp on September 1, 2011.
