Possibility of same gang behind Klang robberies
A gang, behind the RM1.2 million heist involving a security company van at a shop in Klang yesterday, could be the same which robbed and torched another van in Klang on Oct 3, last year, and escaped with RM1 million.
The police had not ruled out the possibility that one gang was behind the two robberies, said Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah.
"Nevertheless, we are carrying out further investigations, including scrutinising several closed-circuit television recordings.
"We have recorded statements, including those from security guards in yesterday's incident, and scrutinised several traces of blood on the windscreen of the van which was broken by the criminals," he told a media conference here on Thursday.
On Wednesday, robbers escaped with RM1.2 million from a van at a shop in Jalan Kapar. On Oct 3, 2012, five men armed with a pistol escaped with RM1 million from a security van in Jalan Tiong, off Jalan Eng Ann before setting it ablaze.
"I believe there are witnesses because the incident took place in a busy area, so we hope someone will come forward to facilitate investigations," said Mohd Adnan.
