Potential PKNS house buyers asked to register with Selangor Housing Board
Azlan said Selangorians who met the criteria and had registered with the LPHS would be given preference in the ownership of houses offered by PKNS.
The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has urged low-income people in Selangor to apply for the purchase of its houses in the state through the Selangor Real Estate and Housing Board (LPHS).
PKNS general manager Azlan Md Alifah said this would facilitate the corporation in making available more affordable homes as well as assist the low- and medium-income people to own houses sold at reasonable prices.
"We find that the people of Selangor have difficulty in buying houses in the state as their prices are above RM500,000 per unit.
"As such, PKNS has taken the initiative to make available affordable homes that cost between RM175,000 and RM250,000 while helping to fulfil the state government policy of committing to build more affordable homes," he told Bernama.
Azlan said Selangorians who met the criteria and had registered with the LPHS would be given preference in the ownership of houses offered by PKNS.
He said an applicant should be at least 18 years of age when making the application, the individual or family monthly income must be at least RM10,000 and the applicant and spouse must not own more than one piece of real estate.
PKNS only received the list of names of applicants from LPHS following endorsement by an affordable home buyer selection committee, he said.
"PKNS targets to provide at least 750,000 affordable homes over the five years from this year.
"So far this year, it has already provided 7,500 units," he added.
