The silence of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) towards the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jursidiction) (Amendment 2016) 1965 or RUU355 which was tabled as a Private Member's Bill in the Dewan Rakyat continues to raise questions on its stand.
Kedah UMNO Youth chief, Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said this indirectly proved that PPBM was only a DAP tool to reduce the support of the Malays specifically towards Barisan Nasional (BN).
"We are disappointed at PPBM's stand which continuously maintained silence and is neutral on RUU355 and at the same time ragard themselves as part of Pakatan Harapan.
"To us, PPBM's stand is important because it will reflect the principle and stand of the party in national mainstream politics," he said in a statement.
Shaiful Hazizy said PPBM's silence showed up its main function of PPBM as merely an add on or mosquito.
At the same time, he strongly condemned several Malay Muslim parliamentarians who acted to oppose the tabling of the motion by PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
"Their actions are clearly politically motivated and totally ignorant of the needs of Muslims and the religion.
"We fear, they will continue to be used for Chauvinistic purposes by certain quarters," he said. - BERNAMA
