Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) will intensify efforts to promote in-line skating activities to lure more tourists to Putrajaya, PPj president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat said.
He said roads in Putrajaya were wider and suitable for in-line skating activities which had received encouraging response among the young generation.
"Right now Putrajaya is the preferred destination for cycling activities among the public. With intensified promotional campaign, I'm confident that Putrajaya can also be the preferred destination for in-line skaters.
"We will study the suitability of an existing park to be turned into in-line skating arena where the enthusiasts of this extreme sport can practice and develop their talents," he told reporters at the final day of the Wow! Putrajaya Carnival here Sunday.
The three-day carnival saw two new records listed in the Malaysia Book of Records, namely for 'Largest In-Line Skating' which involved 829 participants, and 'Largest Logo Using Recycled Items' created by 120 students from 12 schools in Putrajaya.
