The 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PR1MA) will open the application for its houses to those who already owned a house but looking for a second one in the city.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the decision to expand the eligibility to apply for PR1MA houses to such applicants was expected to increase the online application to one million from the current 250,000 applications.
He said the application will be opened especially to those who were already owned a house in their states of origin, but had to work in the capital.
"PR1MA is not just about providing houses, but also about forming a community. I want to make sure that this programme will form a peaceful and harmonious PR1MA community," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby Wednesday.
Prior to this, among the criteria to apply for PR1MA houses is that the applicant must not own more than one property.
