Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has described the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government today led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the same as the government led by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak previously.
According to him, the two governments practise money politics and use government power to suppress the people.
"In the first three months of government administration, we did not criticise the government but after the last three or four months, we found that this government is the same as Najib's government.
"Practise money politics, use government power to suppress the people and politically, try to eliminate the opposition. This is what is happening now," he said.
He said this at a press conference at Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana here which was also attended by the future president of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang), Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and several other Pejuang leaders.
Dr Mahathir stressed that government misconduct should be reprimanded and it would be more effective if a political party reprimanded all the offences.
"That's why we set up Pejuang. The goal is the same as Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) but we cannot be members of Bersatu because Bersatu has been 'hijacked' and we have created this new party.
"The purpose is the same because the fight against corruption, abuse of power is still needed," he said.
Astro AWANI had on August 19 reported that Pejuang was officially registered using the Jawi letter ‘Pa’ as the logo.
The future president of Pejuang, Mukhriz explained that the 'blue pantone' logo also has three dots which means the Pillars of Islam, the Pillars of Faith and the Rukun Negara.
