Prada Collaborates With James Lima

Whimsical shorts, handcrafted impressionism meets witty motion capture as the viewer travels into the unique architecture of the Prada Inside Bag. James Lima’s pensive short films for Prada are a surreal exploration of the subconscious mind. The new IT-bag receives star treatment as the Italian house roped in the brilliant Lima to create a series of animated shorts featuring the Inside Bag. According to Prada, the film series is an invitation to experience a beautiful combination of rich traditions with daring originality.
The Swimmer is the first to be released which depicts a young woman diving into the bag and entering an urban underwater metropolitan. The films are playful, seductive and boldly innovative, and they will transport you to a fantasy world. A Kind of Light is a short set in the downtown streets of a similar skyscraper city, where pools of rainwater reflect the endless grids, and a woman strides assuredly on the sidewalk, protected by a mysterious glow that’s around her and also inside of her. The other films saw various enchanting stories that start with a visual invitation made by unzipping a Prada Inside Bag.

The films are released on Prada’s official website, so check them out to experience a joyous freedom to be somewhere else, yet in the present. Head to www.prada.com to view the short films.
