Prasarana vows to facilitate probe on collapsed LRT worksite

Prasarana also promises to extend a helping hand to the family of both workers who had died.
Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) has promised to give its full cooperation to the authorities in assisting investigations on the incident of the collapsed under-construction LRT terminal on Wednesday.
Project management consultant, Opus-Ace Vector Consortium; detailed design consultant and supervising engineer, HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd; and the contractor of the Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru Depot for the Ampang LRT Line Extension Project, Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd will also be facilitating the authorities regarding the probe.
Prasarana Group Director for Project Development, Datuk Ir Zohari Sulaiman in a statement on Thursday said investigations on the cause of the incident were underway and all relevant parties would extend their full support to facilitate the investigations.
“We sincerely regret the unfortunate incident and would extend a helping hand to the family of both workers.
“We also appreciate the support and assistance from the Fire and Rescue Services Department, the police, and medical officers and rescuers from the hospital and the local authority in the search and rescue mission,” said Zohari in a media statement here today.
During the incident, the floor of the building collapsed at 4.20pm when six workers were levelling liquid concrete on the floor of the first floor and crashed on two Bangladeshi workers who were working at the level below, claiming their lives.
Following the incident, two workers escaped unscathed while four others suffered minor injuries and sent to the Putrajaya and Serdang Hospitals for treatment.
