Home Ministry (KDN) has proposed Johor government to issue a demand order to prevent underage from staying out late in high-risk areas in the state.
Its deputy minister, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed opined that the prevention should be implemented from underage to be loitering in risky places including the city centre and main roads.
“The problem now is police have limited power towards the underage, if the state government can take a stand that it is not a curfew but as an objection for them to go out at night at main roads that are hazardous,” Nur Jazlan told reporters at a media conference here today.
The suggestion came in light of the fatal deaths of eight cyclist teenagers in Johor Bahru after they were mowed down by a Nissan Almera as prevention measure to avoid such incident to occur in the future.
