Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and other Southeast Asian leaders join President Barack Obama at the two-day US-ASEAN Summit currently underway here.
The focus of the leaders' gathering on Monday (Tuesday in Malaysia) is on strengthening ASEAN's economic growth through innovation and entrepreneurship.
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed joined Najib during the discussion on economic matters.
Malaysia, as 2015 ASEAN chair, hosted the 3rd ASEAN-US Summit in Kuala Lumpur in November last year.
It was then that President Obama invited the leaders of the 10-member grouping to meet on US soil for the first time.
ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Obama and his ASEAN guests are scheduled to attend a dinner at the meeting venue - Sunnylands, a 90ha estate in Rancho Mirage, where they will continue their discussion.
They are expected to deliberate on political and security matters including counter-terrorism, maritime and transnational issue Tuesday (Wednesday in Malaysia)
