Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today visited the victims of the fire at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) who are housed at the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) here.
Datin Seri Rosmah, who is the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) president, arrived at the hospital lobby at about 11.20am.
She was received by the wife of Johor Menteri Besar and Public Welfare Body of the Wives of Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives of Johor (Juita) president Datin Seri Rosni Omar; Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya and State Health and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat.
Also present was Health Department director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah; State Health Department director Dr Rooshaimi Merican A.Rahim and HSI director Dr Arbain Lani.
Datin Seri Rosmah, who is also Permata Negara (PERMATA) programme patron, was then accompanied to the Sri Pandan Meeting Room in the building and given a briefing by Dr Rooshaimi on the incident and the conditions of the victims.
The briefing took 30 minutes, following which she was taken to the Burn Treatment Unit on the fifth floor of the building.
At the unit, she saw the progress of patient S. Suppamah, 67, and two HSA nurses, Nursuhaily Saliman, 23 and Nurul Ain Zulkalnain, 24, who suffered burns during the fire.
Datin Seri Rosmah also visited the pediatric palliative care ward on the same floor to meet two other victims who had recovered from their injuries and six next-of-kin of victims who died in the tragedy.
They were all given cash contributions from both Bakti Permata Foundation and Juita.
Six patients at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) died in the tragedy on Oct 26, namely, K. Logeswaran, 20, Choo Lin Fung, 37, Toh Ah Wah, 60, Yusof Hassan, 53, M. Kaliama, 23, and C. Neeramala Devi, 24 while five others were injured, namely a patient, three nurses and a physiotherapy student. -- BERNAMA
