Prime Minister saddened by the resignation of P. Waythamoorthy

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Friday expressed his disappointment on the the resignation of P. Waythamoorthy as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s department.
Najib however said that he respected the decision made by the leader of the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) land hoped the best for him in the future.
“P.Waythamoorthy may have different approach to things, but he was supposed to meet and consult with me first before announcing his resignation,” Najib said in a statement on Friday.
He added that Waythamoorthy should have adapted to the government's system and cooperated with the government in reaching a consensus in implementing government programs.
Najib also said that he will continue to carry out the socio-economic development programme for Indians as what the government is doing for other races.
Waythamoorthy, who is also the chairman of HINDRAF resigned on Monday from the Prime Minister’s office.
HINDRAF’s Secretary, P. Ramesh said that the resignation letter was sent personally to the Prime Minister’s office at 5pm.
He added that Waythamoorthy in his resignation letter, had elucidated his reasons for relinquishing his duties from the current administration.
Waythamoorthy had decided to quit as the government had not fulfilled any of its promises despite winning the 13th general election in May last year.
