Prime suspect in Hussain Ahmad Najadi's murder arrested
The police arrested the prime suspect in connection with the murder of Arab-Malaysian Development Bank (AMDB) founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi in Larut Tin Tambahan, Taiping just after midnight Monday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the 44-year-old man was nabbed at a house at 12.30am following information from the public.
He said two men aged 31 and 26, who were believed to be harbouring the suspect, were also arrested.
"They were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPKKL) and the police are searching for the firearms used in the attack," he told a news conference at the IPKKL here today.
On July 29, Hussain, who was first managing director and chief executive officer of AMDB, now known as Ambank Group, was gunned down and his wife seriously injured when a gunman fired from close range at a car park after they left the Kuan Yin Temple in Lorong Ceylon here.
The case is being investigated under Sections 302 and 212 of the Penal Code.
