Principal, son killed in road crash in Jengka

A school principal and his youngest son were killed in an accident involving two cars and a lorry at Kilometer 23.5, Jalan Temerloh-Bandar Jengka/Jerantut, Maran, Sunday.
The victims were identified as Mohd Rozi Mat Bani, 48, of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jengka Pusat, and his 11-year-old son, Adam Zikry. They died on the spot in the 1 pm crash.
Maran district police chief DSP Mat Rizal Mat Radzi said Mohd Rozi's other son, Muhammad Afiq Zakwan, 18, who was at the wheel of a Perodua Kelisa car, was seriously injured and in critical condition at the Intensive care Unit (ICU) of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital(HOSHAH) in Temerloh.
"The crash occurred when Muhammad Zakwan was believed to be over-taking several vehicles, but failed and collided with an oncoming Proton Waja car.
The impact caused Muhammad Zakwan's car to spin and then hit by a lorry," he said when contacted here tonight.
Mat Rizal said the driver of the Proton Waja car, whose identity could not be ascertained, escaped with minor injury.
It is learnt that Mohd Rozi and his sons were from Bandar Jengka and on their way home to Sungai Gau, Temerloh.
The remains of Mohd Rozi and Adam Zikry would be buried at the Sungai Gau Muslim Cemetery.
