Probe shows flying object that hit pedestrian not from Monorail

An initial investigation has revealed that the flying object that hit pedestrian Muhd Bukhari Mohd Nawi in Brickfields recently did not originate from any material owned or used by the Monorail operator in the area.

Rapid KL Monorail Line chief operating officer Mohd Ariffin Idris said in a statement Friday the investigation was carried out by Rapid KL Monorail Line and involved a thorough check of the Switch Deck area which was found to be clean and tidy.

"We believe that the flying object that hit Muhd Bukhari on Nov 12 did not come from any of our assets or equipment," he said.

According to Mohd Ariffin, Rapid KL Monorail Line had made an analysis on the object which was said to have hit the victim's head and resembled a roof plate.

"I personally led the investigation and went to the scene with all my team members ... we did not find any evidence of missing or loose items on our assets and areas," he said.

Muhd Bukhari had lodged a complaint via email to the Rapid KL Call Centre on Nov 12, claiming that a flying object hit his head when he was walking to a surau in Brickfields.

He also claimed that the object had fallen from the monorail facility above him. The incident left a cut on his head that required stitches. -- Bernama
