The proposal to extend the curfew in the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) to the open sea is among issues that will be raised at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.
According to the Order of the Meeting in the Parliament's official website, the issue will be raised during the Questions for Oral Answer session through a question by Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris (Bersatu-Libaran) since the kidnapping cases have spread to the open sea.
In the same session, Wong Shu Qi (PH-Kluang) will ask the Minister of Finance on the number of applicants who have successfully redeemed the RM50 e-Tunai until June 30, 2020.
Apart from that, Tony Pua Kiam Wee (PH-Damansara) will ask the Prime Minister on the restructuring of Syarikat Lebuhraya Utara Selatan, whether the restructuring agreement has been finalised.
Pua also wants to know the estimated savings that will be enjoyed by highway users and the compensation to be paid by the government for each year until the termination of the concession.
After the session end, the Poisons (Amendment) Bill 2019 and the Cooperatives (Amendment) Bill 2020 will be tabled for second reading and for debate before members will decide whether to pass them or not.
The current Dewan Rakyat session is for 25 days, with today its last day, during which it is conducted under the new normal by adhering to the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOP) to curb the spread of COVID-19.
