Proton Saga wins compact Sedan of the year award
The Proton Saga was named the 'Compact Sedan of the Year' at the recent 'Vehicle of the Year Award'event.
The Proton Saga, manufactured by Proton Holdings Bhd, was named the 'Compact Sedan of the Year' at the recent Vehicle of the Year Award event jointly hosted by a motoring site, Drive Safe and Fast, and Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd.
"We are humbled and very pleased with this recognition.
"The new Saga has come a long way since its introduction in 1985 as a lot of improvements, enhancements and refinements have gone into the making of the new Saga," said Proton Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali in a statement today.
He added that the third generation Proton Saga was launched on Sept 28, 2016 and stayed true to its DNA as the people's car by being the most affordable sedan in the country.
Among the other accolades received by the new Proton Saga, since its launch last year, were 'The Rising Star' by ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) Grand Prix Awards 2016 and 'Value for Money Car Award' from Malaysia Car of the Year 2016.
