Proton Holdings Bhd, has urged the 5,280 owners of Inspira cars manufactured between September 2010 to May 2011, to contact authorised Proton service centres for a free inspection.
Malaysian carmaker, Proton Holdings Bhd, has urged the 5,280 owners of Inspira cars manufactured between September 2010 to May 2011, to contact authorised Proton service centres for a free inspection.
Proton said the campaign is in conjunction with Mitsubishi Malaysia Motor's free inspection and repair campaign involving the V-ribbed belt and brake booster on selected completely built up (CBU) Mitsubishi models.
"It is believed that the 'Drive Belt Pulley' unit in the Proton Inspira cars manufactured during the stated period may develop possible pulley wear after a certain mileage or driving condition.
"This will cause premature wear and tear to the unit, possibly resulting in battery depletion and engine overheating, as well as increasing steering effort for the power steering system," it added.
Proton said there would be no labour and part costs related to the issue.
