The Penilaian Sekolah Rendah Agama (PSRA) examination scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed after schools have been ordered closed due to the haze.
Islamic Religious Schools in Selangor come under the supervision of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).
JAIS deputy director Ahmad Zaki Arshad said in a statement, the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings have recorded very unhealthy levels today.
The examination will commence on Tuesday with the Arabic paper (Code BA02) at 2.40 pm and a new date for the first paper will be announced soon.
He urged the school administrators to inform the parents, candidates and related parties as soon as possible.
In a statement, the Education Ministry said all schools in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Sri Aman, Kuching and Samarahan in Sarawak have been ordered closed tomorrow due to the worsening API.
According to the Department of Environment, as of 2pm, three areas recorded very unhealthy API compared to five at 11am.
Shah Alam recorded the highest API reading of 239, followed by Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (228) and Port Klang (215).
