Puad again warns contractors delaying school projects
Deputy Education Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi has again issued the ministry's warning of stern action against contractors who fail to complete school projects on time.
He said the ministry had blacklisted a centralised contractor in Sarawak and would soon blacklist another.
Both contractors had been involved in the cabin system construction of new classrooms, dining halls and dormitories in a number of schools, he said at a news conference at the Sibu airport, here, last night.
Mohd Puad said that though one of them had completed seven projects, there had been a delay and the quality of work was poor.
"They are tarnishing the reputation of the ministry. At the same time, they are causing a lot of inconvenience and problems to students and disrupting the learning process," he said.
