Qatar's Hamad International Airport available on Google 360-degree street view

The Hamad International Airport (HIA) on Tuesday announced the launch of Google 360-degree street view imagery of Qatar's state-of-the-art airport as part of its digital strategy, reports Qatar News Agency (QNA).
Street View Special Collects is a feature of Google Maps that let users explore places around the world such as landmarks, natural wonders, and culturally and historically significant sites.
Today, anyone with an Internet connection can explore the airport's facilities within its 600,000 square metre terminal including Qatar Duty Free, its premium shopping emporium, the iconic Lamp Bear and various other art installations in the airport and all services offered within its five concourses.
Chief Operating Officer at HIA Badr Mohammed Al Meer, said: "With the launch of Google's Street View in our airport, our customers from all over the world will get the unique opportunity to experience our airports award winning facilities, airport architecture and design quality.
"We at HIA are proud to be the first airport in the Middle East to launch the 360 degree Street View with Google. We are also among a select few airports in the world to have launched this feature."
For his part, Global Lead for the Google Street View Programme, Ulf Spitzer said that with the programme, millions around the world will now be able to inspect the Hamad International Airport, which they might be travelling to or go through.
Google used the Trekker, a wearable Street View backpack with a camera system on top that is designed to go down footpaths, tracks and narrow pathways to get images of areas of natural beauty, tourist sites, and other iconic structures.
