Queen opens Girl Guides Association AGM

SUBANG JAYA: The Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, has praised the excellent achievement of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia (PPPM) which has entered its 104th year of establishment.
"I congratulate the members involved in all levels at home and abroad and hope they would remain active even during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, in fact I was told that PPPM is now more active in implementing various programmes and plans online," said Her Majesty.
The Raja Permaisuri Agong, who is the Royal Patron of PPPM, said this in her speech when launching the 55th Annual General Meeting of the association here which was also attended by the Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim, who is PPPM deputy president.
Tunku Azizah was also pleased with the RM1.5 million allocation that the association would receive through the “Kumpulan Wang Amanah Perkhidmatan Kemasyarakatan dan Kebajikan” assistance as announced by the new PPPM president Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman who is also wife of the Prime Minister.
"I hope PPPM will use the allocation to send members to attend meetings abroad,” Her Majesty said.
To date, PPPM has 18 branches throughout Malaysia with a total of 282,147 members.
