QZ8501: Four more bodies identified

Four more bodies have been identified by the Disaster Victims Identification (DVI) team today, bringing the total number of identified victims from the ill-fated AirAsia flight QZ8501 to 13 people.

The victims are Shiane Josal (45-year-old, female, Indonesian), Tony Linaksita (42-year-old, male, Indonesian), Lim Yan Koen (61-year-old, male, Indonesian) and Yongki Jou (53-year-old, male, Indonesian).

Currently, a total of 299 forensic experts are involved in the identification process including foreign experts.

The Indonesian National Police (POLRI) had stressed that a mass funeral of the flight victims would not be held.

According to Indonesia's National Chief of Police General Sutarman, all the bodies that have been retrieved would be identified before they are handed over to their respective families.

In another development, Istiqlal Mosque grand Imam, Imam Ali Mustafa Yakub in an interview with Republika, said that the bodies which were damaged beyond identification should be left to decompose in the ocean.
