QZ8501: Malaysian Chung Huei on missing flight is husband of UITM Sarawak lecturer

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak today confirmed that Sii Chung Huei, the only Malaysian on board the missing AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501 is the husband of Assoc Prof Annie Wong Muk Ngiik.

In a statement issued here today, UiTM Sarawak rector, Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali said Wong was their senior lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management.

"I believe the Indonesian government is doing its best with assistance from Malaysia and other neighbouring countries in executing the search and rescue (SAR) operation. May the SAR team bring good news to us.

"My deepest sympathies are with Assoc Prof Annie Wong, and the families and friends of all other passengers and crew members on AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501 at this difficult time.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all the passengers and crew. May they all return home safely soon," he said.
