Rabies: Victims remain in ICU, Sarawak General Hospital
Sarawak Health director Dr Jamilah Hashim said the department had not received any report of new cases.
The three children who were reported to be infected with Rabies remain in critical condition at Sarawak General Hospital's intensive care unit.
Sarawak Health director Dr Jamilah Hashim also said when contacted that the department had not received any report of new cases.
She said a health team had been carrying out active case detection since Thursday (June 29) at the victims' villages.
"The team is going from house to house to detect any case of dog bite while the Veterinary Department is dealing with dog control," she said.
The Health Ministry on Friday confirmed that three children including two siblings from Kampung Paon Sungai Rimu Bakung and Kampung Lebur, Gedong in Serian District had been infected with rabies and were being treated in the ICU, Sarawak General Hospital.
The siblings are a four-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl while the third victim is a seven-year-old girl.
