Racial unity pillar of national peace and harmony - Zambry

Racial unity was the main pillar for continued peace and harmony in this country, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

He said the continuous efforts to ensure the country remained prosperous should also be shared of all regardless of their race and religion.

"I hope the Year of the Monkey this time could give a new spirit as a symbol of wisdom that will bring the state forward."

Zambry said this in his speech at a Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Perak Gerakan at the Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Chung Tak hall in Kampung Simee, here, today.

Among the 1,000-odd people present were Gerakan chairman Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong, party adviser Tan Sri Chang Ko Youn and Perak MCA chairman Datuk Mah Hang Soon.

At the event, Zambry also handed out the contribution of foodstuff from Yayasan Bina Upaya Darul Ridzuan to 20 recipients.
