'Raja Bomoh' who has been performing rituals purportedly to help search for the missing Malaysian Airlines jetliner, will likely be investigated under the Selangor Syariah Criminal Enactment.

Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) director Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad said action would be taken against Ibrahim Mat Zin, 80, if he was found to have deviated from Islamic teachings.

"Jais has received many complaints from the public, including via the web and Facebook, over his antics.

"We are investigating his action under Section 7 (1) of the Selangor Syariah Criminal Enactment," Ahmad Zaharin told reporters here on Saturday.

Ibrahim, who calls himself Raja Bomoh (king of witch doctors) conducted the rituals at the KL International Airport on Monday and Wednesday.

Ahmad Zaharin said Jais was monitoring KLIA to prevent such antics from recurring.
