The fallen piece of ceiling found in front of an elevator on the 11th floor of Wisma Dang Bandang here is believed to be due to the moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale that struck in Ranau early today.
Sabah Information director Datuk Almain Ajirul said the broken piece was discovered by a security guard who was patrolling the building this morning.
"Only a piece of the ceiling fell and no technical problems occured," he told Bernama here today.
Almain said the earlier earthquake in Sabah on June 5 did not affect the building, which also houses the Meteorological Department, Immigration Department and Health Department.
