SHAH ALAM: The #RasuahBusters movement today submitted several political demands to ensure the country's process of recovery, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, is based on the principles of integrity and transparency.

Rasuah Busters chief executive officer Nurhayati Nordin said that besides those two principles, enforcement of the law through political stability as a cornerstone should also be instilled.

"#RasuahBusters, together with coalition representatives, today submitted the demands that need to be placed as the main agenda to be tabled in Parliament and the people are expected to give their full support so that the country's recovery process can run in an integrated and holistic manner," she said at a media conference on the Enam Tuntutan Politic #MalaysiaTanpaRasuah "Apa Dah Jadi?" (Six Political Demands #MalaysiaWithoutBribery "What Has Happened?" here today.

Nurhayati said the demand was the enactment of the Anti-Party Hopping Act, which is the beginning of the transformation needed in upholding parliamentary democracy and as an effort to save the country from political, health and security crises while making the people's mandate a priority.

"The next demand is to expedite the tabling and implementation of the Political Financing Act so that the manipulation of systems, procedures, conflicts of interest, control weaknesses and any leaks can be blocked as well as able to erode corrupt politics that threatens the integrity of political institutions.

"The final demand is to ensure the freedom and transparency of institutions, among them the Attorney-General's Chambers and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission must be separated and independent," she said.

Also present was #RasuahBusters Team Leader Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub, who is also chairman of the Karangkraf Group board of directors.
