Malaysians are rational and understand Malaysian politics and will not easily engage in the 'Himpunan Guling Kerajaan' said retired former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Norian Mai.
Norian Mai who is also Malaysia Peacekeeping Foundation (Pengaman) chairman, said he does not think the illegal gathering will turn into a demonstration-style Arab Spring 'a term for the revolutionary wave of demonstrations and protests (both non-violent and violent), riots, and civil wars in the Arab world that began on Dec 18, 2010, and forced out several rulers from power in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Yemen.
“I believe in the ability of the police in handling such a situation if it occurs and secondly I am confident that Malaysians are rational and this will not happen,” he told reporters when asked to comment on the intended gathering.
