With today the last day of the Aidilitri holiday break, traffic has already built up on most major highways as early as 10 am.
A PLUS Malaysia Berhad spokesman said on the North-South Highway traffic was slow moving from Taiping to Changkat Jering, Jelapang to the Simpang Pulai rest area and Sungkai to Slim River.
"Traffic volume is very high but the situation is under control," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Meanwhile, a Malaysian Highway Authority spokesman said the situation was the same on the East Coast Highway 1 from the Karak toll plaza to the Bentong toll plaza heading to the federal capital but was manageable.
However, he said traffic on the East Coast Highway 2 was smooth.
