Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek gave two cents worth on what it takes to be a "syariah-compliant airline" following Rayani Air announcement that it has suspended its operations effective yesterday.
“The difficulty in being syariah-compliant (airline) is not just through the dressing or food and drinks, but being punctual, efficient, comply to its promises and giving a better service than the rest.
“All the best,” said Ahmad Shabery on his Facebook page today.
On Friday, Rayani Air passengers expressed their anger towards the company after the eleventh hour cancellation of several scheduled flights on Friday.
In an email to his staff on the same day, Rayani Air chief executive officer/founder/owner, Ravi Alagendrran announced that the company has ceased its operations with immediate effect.
This was confirmed by a spokesperson from the airline when contacted by Astro AWANI on Saturday.
"Please be informed that we have suspended our operations with immediate effect until further notice. This is an effort as part our company restructuring plan/exercise,” said Alagendrran in the email.
