Recipients can claim BR1M in cash at BSN branch

1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) recipients who fail to get their money through their bank account can claim the aid in cash at any Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch.

Finance Deputy Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong said the technical hitch was due to incorrect bank account number given by the recipients in their application form.

He said the govenrment had sent a notification to the affected recipients about the problem.

"The alternative is for them to come to any BSN branch and claim in cash using their identity card," he told a media conference after launching the Malaysian Annual Real Estate Convention here today.

Chua also reminded the recipients concerned to rectify the error during the appeal period till March 31, to facilitate payout which is done in three stages.

He also urged Malaysians who are eligible but have not registered for the aid to take advantage of the appeal period to do so.
