Reinstating MACC officers fair move - Mustafar Ali
MACC: The Commission will continue to carry out the duties and responsibilities of independent , transparent and professional as enshrined in the MACC Act 2009 and the aspiration of the MACC.
KUALA LUMPUR:The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) said the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa's action in cancelling the transfer orders of its two senior officers is a fair and reasonable move.
In a statement, MACC Deputy Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Haji Mustafar Ali in a statement today said MACC welcomed the order.
He thanked Ali, the Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and all quarters involved in the matter.
"The Commission will continue to carry out the duties and responsibilities independently, transparently and professionally as enshrined in the MACC Act 2009 in tandem with MACC's aspiration," he said in the statement.
Special Operations Division director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and director of its Strategic Communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob were transferred to the Prime Minister's Department with immediate effect on Friday as police investigated the MACC over purported leak of official documents in relation to the probe into SRC International Sdn Bhd, an entity owned by 1MDB.
The police have since suspended their probe into the matter.
Ali and Mohamad Zabidi met the two MACC officers this morning to hear their explanation before their transfer orders were cancelled.
Earlier, Astro AWANI reported that the transfer order of the two officers has been rescinded and that they had reported to work this morning at about 10am.
