Remaining charges read out for dad allegedly raped, sodomised daughter
The reading of the remaining charges against a 36-year-old father who allegedly sodomised, raped and sexually abused his teenage daughter was continued and completed today. -Filepix/Bernama
The reading of the remaining charges against a 36-year-old father who allegedly sodomised, raped and sexually abused his teenage daughter continued and completed today at the Special Court on Child Sexual Crimes, here.
Wearing the same grey t-shirt and blue jeans that he wore yesterday, the man claimed trial to all the charges that were read out to him.
The court started reading his charges around 9.15am today and completed reading it around 11.55am.
In yesterday’s proceeding, a total of 182 charges were read out against him and the court had to operate beyond its usual working time to do so.
A total of 444 charges were read out today, bringing the total charges against him to 626.
The man allegedly sodomised the girl for six consecutive months between January and June this year and sexually assaulted her several times a day.
The series of sexual assault was also carried out throughout the holy month of Ramadan including Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
He was charged under the Penal Code, Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (SOACA), and the Child Act 2016 for his offences.
Sessions court judge Yong Zarida Sazali set Sept 18 for mention.
