The remains of Brig Gen Datuk Jalaludin Md Yusof, the defence attaché at the Embassy of Malaysia in Indonesia who died last night, were flown here today for burial.
A C130 aircraft of the Royal Malaysian Air Force carrying the remains flew in to the Batu Berendam airport at 11.27am after having departed Jakarta at 8.30am.
Jalaludin collapsed and died at the main hall of the Malaysian embassy after a breaking-of-fast event. He was 57.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, 3rd Division commander Maj Gen Hasagaya Abdullah, Melaka Police chief Datuk Ramli Din, Jalaludin's family members and about 50 Malaysian and Indonesian soldiers were at the Batu Berendam airport to receive the remains.
Jalaludin will be buried at Pusara Abadi, Sungai Udang here, this afternoon.
Idris expressed his condolences to Jalaludin's family, and said he missed a good friend and resilient soldier.
