Renowned chef Martin Yan cooks with Raja Permaisuri Agong

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah attended the filming and was featured as guest in a cooking show, "Taste of Malaysia With Martin Yan: Special Royal Episode", at the Sultanah Haminah Orphan Foundation building here Saturday.

Her Majesty also showed her talent in preparing traditional dishes -- Mee Bandung and Pengat Pisang -- which were later served to approximately 20 orphans in the district.

The 26-episode cooking show showcases the preparation of Malaysia's traditional dishes and the Special Royal Episode will be aired on 8TV on Sept 6 and on NTV7 on Sept 8.

Besides Alor Setar, the filming of the show was also done in Kota Kinabalu, Kota Bharu, Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Meanwhile, world's renowned chef, Martin Yan, who had been hosting television's cooking shows for 35 years, said he was very honoured to have Her Majesty appearing in his show yesterday.

Throughout the filming process, he said it was obvious that Her Majesty was a caring Queen who cared so much for her subjects, especially children and orphans.
