The police report lodged by Batu Kawan UMNO vice-chief Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan against 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) has nothing to do with Penang Umno, said Penang Umno secretary Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir.
He said Khairuddin lodged the report without the consent of the state UMNO.
"He (Khairuddin) never discussed the matter with the State Umno. We (Penang UMNO), including chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman and his deputy, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, did not know about the report until yesterday.
"We do not support his action and regard it as a personal act which has nothing to do with the State Umno. Until today, he has not contacted us about matter," he told a media conference here today.
Musa, who is also Bukit Mertajam Umno chief, did not rule out the possibility of issuing a show cause letter to Khairuddin.
"It will be discussed at the State Umno meeting and its up to the chairman to decide on the next course of action," he added.
Khairuddin lodged the report yesterday alleging there was mismanagement of funds by the government-owned agency and called for a thorough investigation.
