The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department has stationed 21 personnel and a fire engine on standby to monitor the safety of residents at Bukit Setiawangsa which experienced a landslide last Friday.
Federal Territory Fire and Rescue director Khirudin Drahman said his men were on a 24-hour alert to assist the affected residents who had been directed to vacate their houses.
"Last night, we helped to retrieve some belongings for the victims. We accompany the residents into their houses for their safety," he said.
He said eight firemen were on duty on the hill top while 13 others were on guard at the foothill.
"Stations nearby have also been put on alert to provide assistance if necessary," he added.
In the 10pm incident, the concrete embankment on the 50 to 60 metre high hill slope collapsed causing destruction and damage to several houses at Puncak Setiawangsa.
