Severe soil erosion has forced 50 residents of Taman Saujana Indah in Bukit Katil here, to live in fear.
Six months ago, several residents detected major cracks, almost three years after they moved in.
Their nightmares begun especially after several residents claimed that major cracks have been detected in several parts of their homes including the walls, pillars, walkways and fences.
According to some residents when met by Astro AWANI, developers have fixed the flaws at several homes, yet the cracks seem to persist.
“Our major concern is the safety of our children, especially during the monsoon season. These homes are where we sleep in, rest but since 2012, we don’t feel safe anymore.
“Mishaps are bound to happen anytime. The house may not collapse but my kid fell into a hole,” said a distressed home owner, Zairi Suboh.
Affected home owners have sought for long-term solutions from developers to address the issue in order to avoid any untoward incidents.
Residents have allegedly said that soil tests were conducted by an agency appointed by the developer and results showed the area is safe and restoration works on the homes can be carried.
Soil movement of between 260mm and 325mm has been reported over the past 10 years.
