Respect MCA's stand on hudud

As such, the BN Back Benchers Club (BNBBC) should respect the fact that each component party in BN are of equal standing, and that each party has the right to state its stand, in line with the principles of democracy.

BNBBC must recognize that the BN coalition consists of 14 different parties, with each party representing its own community, and this reflects Malaysia’s unique diversity.

Therefore, it is regretful that they have chosen to hurl criticisms against MCA when instead, they should ask themselves on what grounds is MCA choosing to object against PAS Hudud Law?

Moreover, despite the differing views between each component party, we are still together in the BN family, and for the sake of national interest we can work together to negotiate.

The strongly worded-statement issued by the BNBBC on their website which condemned MCA is thus uncalled for, as MCA has always kept to our stance, which in turn is based upon our principals and conscience.

We cannot afford to make a mistake which would see us being condemned in history for not performing our duty. We have a responsibility to the non-Muslim voters to explain the seriousness of the situation should PAS succeed in passing its Hudud Law.

While MCA and UMNO may disagree over the issue, but within the BN family we operate by consensus. We conduct consultations before arriving at a collective decision, in line with our principle of collective responsibility.
