A retired soldier was jailed a day and fined RM4,000 by the Magistrates Court here today, on a charge of causing hurt to a security guard last year.   

Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid also sentenced S.Murugayah, 64, three months jail in default of the fine, after he changed his plea to guilty.

Murugayah was charged with intentionally causing hurt to R.Bala Kumaravel, 58, with a cane and golf club outside the Armanee Terrace, Damansara Perdana guard post at 12.30 am on Dec 16 2012.  

Deputy public prosecutor Nur Aifaa Che Abdullah prosecuted while Murugayah was represented by lawyer Datuk Suraj Singh.
