Malaysians returning from overseas are required to undergo medical check-ups, said Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

In a message on his Twitter account today, he said, Malaysians returning from overseas would also have to undergo voluntary quarantine for 14 days.

"The Wisma Putra maintains that all Malaysians returning home from overseas are required to undergo a health check-up and voluntary quarantine in line with the country's #Control MovementOrder," he added.

The Movement Control Order goes into effect on Wednesday (March 18) until March 31.

Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his televised special address last night has urged the people to stay home throughout the 14-day Movement Control Order to break the chain of infection of COVID-19.

On another development, Hishammuddin also expressed relief after learning that the Indonesian authorities has decided to suspend a tabligh congregation in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

“Many have contacted me about the tabligh rally in Indonesia yesterday because they were worried that it would spread #COVID19, especially to Malaysians who participated.

"It is really a relief that the authorities and the organizers have decided to postpone the congregation in Gowa," he said.
