Reveal, punish UMNO 'mystery' leader who discusses secret collaboration with Anwar - Analyst

KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO needs to expose and immediately punish the party leader who held secret discussions with PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Senior Lecturer of the College of Government and International Studies, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Dr Kamarul Zaman Yusoff, said any cooperation between UMNO and PKR clearly violates the policy and tarnishes the party's name as well as causing confusion to members.

He stressed that the leader should be called immediately to give an explanation to the Supreme Council and the Disciplinary Board.

"It is a question that is still a mystery to all, who is the mastermind who discussed on behalf of UMNO with the PKR President for cooperation with the opposition coalition.

"Everyone is getting confused after UMNO Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan; Information Chief, Shahril Hamdan Suffian and Youth Chief, Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki who insisted that they did not know about it after Anwar admitted to discussing with UMNO.

"Therefore, UMNO must identify the identity of this leader and come forward to reveal to everyone who had discussed with Anwar and why it happened," he said in a statement on Wednesday.
