Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob wants all out-of-classroom activities to be reviewed to prevent students from facing health risks due to the hot and hazy weather.
He said schools were advised to take into consideration various aspects before deciding to engage in any activities outside the classroom.
"The school or the State Education Department must review all outdoor activities and if there is no need to continue with that activity, it's better to suspend or cancel it.
"We do not want students to endanger their health, especially with the current hot and hazy weather conditions," he told reporters after visiting the family of the late Mohammad Ammar Abdulloh, 17, a Form Five student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanjung Lumpur here this evening.
Mohammad Ammar had fought for his life for 34 hours in the intensive care unit of Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan here before being pronounced dead due to complications arising from exposure to extreme heat, resulting in the failure of his internal organs, while following a Police Cadet Training Camp at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cocurriculum Centre in Kampung Pandan here, on Wednesday.
