A total of RM2.3 million had been allocated for youth programmes in Penang since 2011 until this year, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop.
He said the objectives of the programmes were to get closer to the youths and to guide them and listen to their woes besides providing information on the opportunities available for education, business and career on a continuous basis.
"It is hoped that the youths will be more motivated to grab the opportunities for self-development in the various fields particularly education," he said when launching the Enhancing Youth Sports Programme, at
Pantai Robina, here today.
The programme, organised by the Focus Group Bumiputera, also provided space for the youths to trade and promote various products besides being the best platform to gain experience and project their leadership capabilities.
