RM620 million allocated to schools, non-schools - MOE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has allocated RM750 million for the maintenance of schools and non-schools under the 2021 Budget.
Senior Minister (Education), Mohd Radzi Jidin, said of the amount, RM620 million was allocated to schools and RM50 million to non-schools.
He explained that the allocation involved the distribution to 8,293 government schools (SK) with an allocation of RM515 million and 1,930 government aided schools (SBK) of RM105 million.
Meanwhile, another RM50 million was for slope maintenance and RM30 million earmarked to cover any critical maintenance needs.
He said critical allocation will be channeled to the type of school whose ceiling allocation was RM30 million and below.
"Indication (allocation allocation) looks at the state of schools across the country and how the maintenance situation, we get in-depth input to schools and try to find a more comprehensive method of distribution, especially when we look at the number of schools," he said in a press conference. here today.
Earlier, the MOE received an allocation of RM50.4 billion in the 2021 Budget.
Of that amount, RM800 million was allocated for the maintenance and repair work of government schools and government aided schools.
